Find Your Niche
For ‘niche‘ read ‘market‘ and vice-versa. Who is your market, what is your niche? It kind of makes sense to discover that before you create your site.
While you’re looking into that it might also be an idea to see if there’s any money to be had in that particular market and what/who your competition is, but get used to the fact that there will always be some!
But that will be covered in more depth in the ‘Show Me The Money‘ section of the site (NB: some competition is a GOOD thing!)
Of course if you are only interested in having an online diary of your thoughts and opinions on matters diverse, such as your take on the daily news bulletin, that’s up to you but if you want to create a new online business, ramp up an existing one or promote your offline business then this research is important. It not only shows what’s ‘hot’ in the market place it can steer you in the direction your new blog might take.
I’ve said it before (and no doubt will say it again) there’s no point blogging about stuff that no bugger is interested in!
The fact, I’m happy to report, is that you are really spoiled for choice when it comes to researching niches ( if you know where to go) and I offer some simple suggestions and examples in this video…
